Day 23

New week and no carb for dinner... Probably first time I felt a little hungry at night since starting the PCP diet. It's not like I was starving or anything (the fruits helped) but definitely feeling it. At least now I don't have to cook as much and can split my food across more meals!

Been poaching a lot of food recently, partly because it's a relatively easy way to cook meat in PCP-compliant way. Poached fish, chicken, eggs. The results were pretty good! Plain but delicious. Kind of glad PCP forced me to try some new ways to cook my food if I don't want to eat the same boring meal every day.

Workout has been going alright. It's kind of become just something I do every day now, but there's still the slacker/procrastinator tendency in me that tends to push them as far back as possible. As a result I tend to do the strength training exercises pretty late at night. Probably should try to get them done earlier.

My weekly pictures are up. Weighed in at 74.7 kg / 164.6 lbs, 19.0% body fat. This is really the same weight as the end of week 1... With the new diet this week I'm pretty sure I'll lose weight, and since I'm gaining muscles I'm not too worried, but still hope I'm not doing anything wrong. I haven't missed a single workout and have been strict about my diet. The only thing I can think of is the occasional olive oil and late dinner. Will see what happens next week...

  1. Hey YeeCheng - looks like some awesome eggs. Can I ask you how you poach them? do you also go with soft-boiled from time to time?

  2. Just bring water with some vinegar to a boil, then reduce to a slow simmer. Drop the egg in and let it cook for a few minutes. You can swirl the water before doing that to help the eggs stay together. After a few minutes scoop it out with a slotted spoon. You can poke it with your finger to tell whether it's cooked or not.

This video probably is a better source:

I usually just hard boil them but coming to think about it maybe I should soft-boil them sometimes just to mix it up...
