Turned out that having to measure and weight every bit of food and make sure they fit the diet is a giant pain in the ass. And even though I already knew from reading blogs of other completed PCPers, I found out we have to eat a crap load of food! My lunch (just a grilled chicken sandwich) and fruit snacks look like this:
There are four slices of bread in there! I don't even normally eat that much at lunch, not to mention the fruit snacks, breakfast, and dinner.
One thing I know I will miss after today is definitely the salt intake. I've never had much of a sweet tooth so I don't really have a sugar craving like some other PCPers do but I definitely love savory and salty food. May have to live with bland food for a while until I get used to it, or just learn to season with spices and herbs
Definitely still have some questions about the diet. One thing is I'm still trying to figure how to measure the weight if I make a tomato pasta sauce. We're also not allowed to use canned veggies, but from what I know a lot of chefs like to use canned tomatoes as they could be better than off season store tomatoes...
Hey, if you don't want all your bread slices, can you send a couple over here? I miss my bread!!! :D
ReplyDeleteDude that's a lot of bread! I dunno about your bread but in HK the standard sliced bread is 50g each (I tried many diff brands and it's all roughly the same). You get 200g carbs for lunch?!
ReplyDeleteThe ones I found in Whole Foods were 43g each, and I get 160g carbs for lunch. Four slices plus bits and pieces that fell off weighed in about 160g.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest though I'm really stuffed. I couldn't believe how much I had to for breakfast and lunch.
